NRS provides search functions for searching the NRS public databases, the Federal Trademark Database and the WhoIs domain name registry. This search also provdes searching of DeMoz, the Open Directory Project. Searches within NRS public databases may include wildcards as indicated in the examples below. Note, search patterns for NRS databases must be at least 3 characters long. Common words such as 'and', 'but', 'the', etc. should be removed from NRS searches. Searches are NOT case-sensitive. Wildcard examples: Search Pattern = source && beos Locate entries with BOTH 'source' and 'beos'. Search Pattern = beos || freebsd Locate entries with EITHER 'beos' OR 'freebsd'. Note, the NRS public databases only contain information about those items explicitly placed in the database(s) by the creator of the product . Most registered items are not listed in the public databases and information must often be obtained by requesting the author permit NRS to release the registration information. |
