Home / Authentication Assistance

Online authentication is the process by which an individual may check a particular Certificate Code against the data in the NRS Certificate Database. If a Certificate Code is valid it means that there is an item that has been registered by NRS-Online that has been issued the particular Certificate Code. Note, not all registered items have certificates but if a Certificate Code is valid then an item has been registered and assigned that Certificate Code.

The data in the Certificate Database will always contain the date of registration for the item associated with the Certificate Code but may not contain ownership details unless the owner used the option to include such details when requesting the Certificate. Subscribers generally use Certificate Codes and online authentication to allow third-parties to confirm that their work, or a particular item, has been registered with NRS-Online.

Note, certificate codes are not case-sensitive - so, there is no need to worry about upper and lower case letters.
